Contactless Payments

Use your Banterra Visa® Debit Card quickly and safely with just a simple tap. This feature allows you to use your card at any contactless terminal at retailers in your community and across the country. Key features include:

  • Fast: It takes just a few seconds to complete and process your transaction when you tap the contactless symbol.
  • Simple: Just hover your card within a few inches of the contactless symbol on the terminal to complete your transaction.
  • Secure: Enjoy the same security and protection as your EMV-chip card.

EMV-Chip Technology

All our debit cards are equipped with EMV-chip technology which provides your card with enhanced security to protect your transactions. Benefits of EMV-chip cards include:

  • Enhanced Fraud Protection: Chip creates a one-time use code for each chip transaction. This code is virtually impossible to counterfeit and helps reduce in-store fraud.
  • Easy To Use: Insert your card to a chip-activated terminal and follow the prompts. If a chip-activated terminal is not available, simply swipe your card.
  • Enjoy Global Acceptance: Chip-activated terminals are available worldwide and continue to grow within the U.S. retail industry

Card On/Off

As a Banterra digital banking customer, you can turn your debit card on or off in case it is lost or stolen through Banterra’s mobile app.

Visa® SRC

With Visa® SRC, you can securely use your Banterra Visa® Debit Card while shopping online to make purchasing much easier. Now, instead of manually entering your card information each time you make a purchase, you'll now be able to enter it only once and just click the Visa® SRC button during the checkout process. Your card's information will automatically be applied to save you time.


Visa® Secure

When you shop online and see the Visa® Secure badge, this means your online purchases are secured with Visa. There’s no need to download anything, install software or register. While online shopping from your desktop, mobile or other digital device, you may be guided through an extra check to verify your identity.

Digital Wallet

You can utilize your smartphone to make debit card payments. You can add your card information to a digital wallet app that includes Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay.

Fraud Protection

Rest easy with 24/7 fraud protection through Visa® Zero Liability – a guarantee from Visa® that you won't be held responsible for unauthorized charges made with your account or account information. Banterra will also notify you if we believe your card has been compromised. Once you've been notified, we reduce the limit on the card and immediately mail a new card to you to be activated.

Lost or Stolen Debit Card

If you believe your debit card has been lost or stolen, notify us immediately.

To notify Banterra Customer Care with your travel plans, please do one of the following:

Call 866-BANTERRA (226-8377), option 4.  Weekdays - 6:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Saturday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST. Closed Sundays.

Send us a secure email by clicking here and including the following information:

  • Your Name(s)
  • Visa® Debit Card Number(s)
  • Departure and Return Dates
  • Destination and/or Places(s) of Travel (city, state, country)
  • Cell Phone Number (in case we need to contact you during your travel)
