As a Loan Portfolio Manager, Jessie York works closely with customers and team members to support lending relationships across our communities. After almost five years with Banterra, she has developed an approach focused on communication and understanding individual needs. Tell Us About Yourself

I was born and raised in Carlyle, Illinois and currently reside there with my daughter. After high school, I furthered my education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale (SIUC) pursuing my Agribusiness Economics degree. I started my banking career in February of 2016 while finishing a couple of online courses before graduating from SIUC (GO DAWGS!) in May of 2016. I enjoy riding horses with family and friends and going boating in the summer.

What Did You Want To Be When Growing Up?

When I was young, I thought I wanted to be a nurse, but somewhere throughout life I decided that I wanted to be a loan officer at a bank.

Favorite Travel Spot?

While I love going to the beach, I would love to go out west and visit Montana one day.

If You Could Meet Anyone In The World Dead Or Alive, Who Would It Be and Why?

I would like to meet all my great-grandparents. Everyone has always spoken highly of them. I think it would be interesting talking with them and learning how things were in their lifetime.

What Music Do You Enjoy Listening To?

I like a variety of music, anything from old country and new country to rock, and rap.

How Have You Grown Personally Or Professionally While Working At Banterra?

Over the course of my career at Banterra, I've grown both personally and professionally. Professionally, I've developed a better understanding of credit analysis, lending, and the importance of listening and understanding our customers' needs. I've improved my ability to evaluate financial situations, communicate with borrowers, and make decisions that support both the bank and our customers. Personally, I have become more confident and adaptable while navigating challenging transactions or tight deadlines. During my time with Banterra I have made great, long-lasting friendships and relationships.
